Greenways

sw_walking_groupGreenways are pathways or walkways used for walking and biking. They often have landscaped green areas and pre-existing parks or points of interest along the way. There are currently three greenways being developed within or adjacent to our study area.

The Conner Creek greenway is located in the Eastside of Detroit. It begins at 8 Mile and Conner, continues south along Conner in front of the city airport and the Conner Playfield, past the Chrysler plant, and down to the Maharas-Gentry Park.

The Corktown-Mexicantown Greenway in located in Southwest Detroit. It runs in a triangle along Bagley Street, Vernor Highway, and Michigan Avenue, and connects the Corktown and Mexicantown communities.

The Lyndon Greenway is located in Northwest Detroit. It will be a 1.5 mile street path along Lyndon Avenue, connecting Eliza Howell Park and Stoepel Park.

To learn more about the Detroit greenways check out the Greenway Reports.
